MSD RESOURCE CENTER AT MAKATI MEDICAL CENTER.

Merck Sharp & Dohme Philippines (MSD) provides doctors in Makati Medical Center easier access to the services of its MSD Resource Center (MRC) with a more strategic location inside the Dr. Mariano Alimurung Medical Library located at the 9th floor of the Makati Medical Center (MMC).

The MMC-MRC was formally launched with the unveiling of the symbolic Plaque of Partnership led by (from left) MSD corporate affairs director Christine Liwanag, Makati City mayor Jejomar Binay, MSD business unit director Stephanie Merida, MMC president and medical director Dr. Raul Fores, and MMC corporate secretary Dr. Benjamin Alimurung.

The new MMC-MRC is another accessible research center aimed to assist the continuing medical and professional education needs of the Filipino physicians.

The MMC-MRC is a healthcare resource center, equipped with a communications system and medical literature research facilities for the use and benefit of the Residents, Fellows, Consultants of MMC, as well as Residents and Consultants from neighboring hospitals.

The MMC-MRC has facilities for medical information services such as browsing services, information tracking and retrieval, computer use, free internet access, slide-making assistance and provides access to online medical journals and to Medline in CD-ROM. The Center also offers high-value learning programs that deal with improving business skills as well as medical research which address the professional and personal growth needs of its users and beneficiaries.

The MMC-MRC is one of ten well-equipped medical libraries that continuously update its listing of medical journals, books, and CD-ROM facilities. The nine other MRCs are located at the Philippine General Hospital, Philippine Heart Center, Philippine Orthopedic Center (POC), Santo Tomas University Hospital, Cebu, Davao Doctors' Hospital, Davao Medical Center, Bicol Medical Center, and Batangas. All ten are becoming the medical community's favorite venues for meetings, seminars, research work and learning programs.
